The referees in Hervey Bay are qualified according to FFA regulations.
They are trained by a highly experienced and capable coach, Mr Les Broadbent.
Training takes place on Monday nights, and sometimes on Thursday nights at the PCYC.

Our referees have varying levels of experience but all are dedicated to doing the best job they can. They are often under the watchful eye of Mr Broadbent, or other senior referees.

We urge all parents and players to be mindful of our need to retaining referees so that they may gain in experience and thus benefit our teams in the long run. Often we lose referees due to over-zealous coaches and parents losing perspective in our junior games.

Remember that the alternative involves using club officials as linesmen - club linesmen and coaches reffing the game is not good for anyone - players, coaches, or parents. We need the refs; let them hone their skills - don't expect perfection - just expect them to try their best.
