FHB Fields 3, 4, and 5 will be opened on Monday February 8.
Please keep off all fields unless you are training.

There is a recognition at all levels of football from FFA down that there is a need to increase the skill level of local coaches.
This is a vital step towards improving the overall skill level of our players at local levels and is a vital part of the "pathways" concept - the progression of our kids from grassroots players through the various stages - representative (FHB), regional (Wide Bay), state, and eventually for a few exceptional players - professional and national honours.
Football Hervey Bay encourages all coaches to consider being part of this journey by enrolling in FQ courses - junior, youth, and senior licenses.
For the first time in a few years, Football Hervey Bay will be hosting a junior license course on the weekend of February 27 and 28.
This course will, in all likelihood, be held at the Fraser Coast Anglican College to avoid clashing with the Hervey Bay Touch Carnival to be held at McFie Park and HBUSC.

Grassroots Coaching Courses |
Hervey Bay will be hosting 3 separate Grassroots Coaching Courses over the next 2 months.
The ‘Grassroots Football Certificate’ is a 3-hour course, conducted locally.
The course aims to help grassroots coaches perform their role more effectively, by giving clear guidance on the nature of their role and the kinds of activities they should include in their training sessions with kids.
This is an excellent way for beginner coaches to learn the basic ‘tools of the trade’ so that they feel more comfortable about teaching football to youngsters, and their players receive quality football experiences.
All coaches who attend the course will receive the FFA’s book, ‘Coaching Grassroots Football’ and an attendance certificate.
There is no cost involved for the participants!
The dates for the courses are:

- Wednesday March 10
- Thursday March 18

The continuing success of this website and the massive number of visits (hits) can be seen by the counter on the RHS of the page.
This website has also proven to be the first port of call for families new into town who want their kids to play football.
Thus, an ad on this website is important exposure to the approximately 2,500 members of the football community (including players, officials, and a huge number of parents and guardians). It also demonstrates that your business wants to be involved with the Hervey Bay community.
All funding raised by these adverts is used directly by Football Hervey Bay exclusively for the improvement of equipment, facilities, and fields to be used by just over 1100 children and over 200 adults every weekend of the season.
I urge all members of our football family to assist in gaining sponsorship for this website. Ask your family and friends who own businesses to contact Robert Bishop via email or by ringing 040 968 768 to discuss what can only be a mutually beneficial relationship.
In a related matter, signage on Field 4 and 5 (the fields that will be used exclusively by our 1100+ juniors in 2010) is available at very generous rates and terms. Once again, all funding raised by these signs will be used by Football Hervey Bay exclusively for the improvement of equipment, facilities, and fields for our kids.
